First and
foremost, I am extremely excited to be returning to the classroom and to have
your student in my class. My first
teaching experience was in 8th grade, and I loved it, so I am so
happy to be returning to this grade level.
My goals for the year are fairly simple, help your child find books that
they truly enjoy, make your child a stronger writer (and build on the awesome
job the previous grade levels have done), prepare them for the transition to
high school next year, and give them opportunities to learn new things.
For those who are not familiar with my background, I am a graduate of Fairfield Union and received my bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Middle Childhood Education. I also have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from OU. Prior to being a principal for the past 5 years, I taught ELA and Social Studies in 5th,
7th and 8th grade and I coached cheerleading for 10
years. I have 3 cats officially (and
about 10 strays who have adopted me) and in my free time I love to read and
watch my nephews participate in all their activities.
