The Falcons advanced in state tournament action on Monday night with a 3-2 victory over visiting Piketon Redstreaks. Kyle Wolfe pitched his way to a win going 4 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, 5 walks and 5 strikeouts. Jacob Forson was able to save the win by pitching the last 2 1/3 innings with no runs, no hits and 1 strikeout.
Offensively the Falcons were led by Ben Barringer going 2-2 at the plate with an RBI single in the second inning and RBI double in the fifth inning. Angelo Galellla squeezed home pinch runner Jeremiah Johnson for the other run.
The Falcons will travel to Unioto on Thursday, May 16 to take on the top seeded Sherman Tanks in the sectional finals at 500 p.m.
