Fairfield Union Cross Country Shines at Newark Catholic Invitational

Newark, OH - The Fairfield Union Men’s Cross Country team delivered an outstanding performance at the Newark Catholic Invitational this past Saturday. Competing against a strong 16 all division field, our guys finished 1st by an impressive 36 points over second place. There were 115 athletes in the varsity race. 

Our boys’ varsity team was led by Drew Walton 1st place overall with a time of 15:53.53. He was closely followed by Nathan Phillips in 2nd (16:23.4), Connor Runkle -5th (16:33.1), Christian Reindle - 6th (16:35.5), Cordel Runkle - 13th (17:03.4), Connor Myers - 17th (17:22.5), Andrew Ray - 18th (17:26.8), and Ryan Boyer - 22nd (17:29.4).

The Men’s reserve team placed 2nd out of 7 teams in the reserve race. There were 89 runners in the reserve race. Chase Miller led the pack with a 1st place finish in 17:54.0. He was followed by Ethan Phillips - 6th (19:52.8), Howard Bean - 12th (20:25.5), Caleb Kellenbarger - 13th (20:25.8), Colin Reindle - 15th (20:36.3), A.J. Huntzinger - 17th (20:56.0), Caleb Tiller - 31st (22:06.4), Anthony Barnecut - 43rd (22:58.3), and Kenseth Baumbusch - 71st (27:36.9).
