The Fairfield Union Treasurer’s office was recently recognized by the Auditor of State, Keith Faber. Scott Brown, acting as a liaison for the Auditor of State, presented the award at the State of the Schools Address on Monday, May 20, 2024.
The Auditor of State’s Office presents the “Auditor of State” award to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a “clean” financial audit. Each entity that receives this prestigious award has filed their financial reports with the Auditor of State by the statutory due date, without extension in accordance with the GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The Auditor of State’s office is responsible for auditing more than 5,900 state and local government agencies and only 10% of these entities are eligible for this award.
